As for me, Game Theory was the last hurrah of my wild 20s. Touring, partying, and temp jobs I was only too happy to walk away from at the least excuse. A carefree existence that allowed me to get in free and without waiting in line to almost any club or show and my biggest daily concern was where to go, who with and the cocktail de jour. The music seemed secondary to the lifestyle. I thought it would last forever but I was seduced by the gain of material wealth. Within months of leaving GT I was back in school and two years later I was working for a prestigious brokerage firm with short hair and a closet full of Italian suits. Instead of going to sleep at 4am I was getting up, and the Wall Street Journal replaced the Weekly as my daily reading. GT was the most successful band I was in and the only one on vinyl/cd. In all, it was a great few years. |
