The Characters
Jimmy Acevedo was my mentor on my very first tour. Our soundman and a veteran of many tours, he regaled me with road stories and taught me the ins and outs of the road. He was also the only other single guy on our tour and therefore my partner in crime. He really enjoyed his job and was also the soundman at the Stone. He later cut his hair, got married and became a restaurant manager
Doug our sound man may have come from Cloverdale where they had only one stoplight but he had toured with many metal bands including Slayer. He taught me that you don’t need to separate your darks and lights when you do laundry. I think he just enjoyed touring regardless of the music. GT was just a way to kill time until his next real tour.
Jimmy and I in NY
Doug being road manager
Doug and the equipment van
Donette, Shelly and DeeAnn
Deanne as the only female sound person we met on our travels. I always suspected that Gil had a thing for her and she would put up with most of our antics. The only time I ever saw her get excited was when she bought a reverb box in NY. I don’t think she was ever a fan of the music but basically tolerated us.
Robert was GT’s biggest fan and Shelly’s husband. He was also our photo and video chronicler as well as responsible for our practicing at the Big Shot studios. We spent many hours going over the video and photo footage over beers at his house. He was always party to if not the instigator of many of our pranks. Bob is the official archivist of GT and has a huge collection of videos and tapes and he created 99% of all the Game Theory material here.
Robert our photographer and historian
Game Theory also had a bunch of odd characters/Scott syncophants that kind of defied description. Think Star Trek fan meets obsure music. He was always too happy to invite them on stage. Beautiful women didn't flock to Gil and I. I kind of thought I met girls in spite of being in the band. I would elaborate but the photos say enough.
Please don't stalk the band members
